About Mitzi
A lifelong artist and animal lover, Mitzi Rothman, has focused on portraits of pets since 1994. Having done quite a collection of cats and dogs in a variety of breeds, Mitzi captures in pastels, the detached elegance of the inscrutable feline, the exuberance and genial vitality of the steadfast canine.
These pastels drawn with wit and charm become more than just a rendering of one’s beloved. Mitzi’s works have been exhibited at prestigious art exhibitions, local art festivals, upscale pet shops, galleries and boutiques.
Although preferring to meet and photograph her subjects in person, she has worked very successfully with pet owners "long distance" using family photos as well as other information provided by the owner.
These lively paintings have been commissioned by and for pet lovers as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or for just about any reason. Mitzi welcomes the opportunity to speak with you about the possibility of doing a portrait of your pet, and answer any questions you may have.
